Disobedient children grow up to become disobedient adults. Disobedient adults tend to raise disobedient children. A majority of disobedient families can produce a disobedient country. God has always required obedience. He will always require obedience --- from the youngest child to the oldest adult. God will always bless those who are obedient. He will always punish those who are disobedient. That’s his Word, and his Word (the Bible) will never change. Obedience to God is an expression of love for God. Sin (disobedience) is NOT and CANNOT serve as an expression of love for God. Consider the following scriptures:

* Deuteronomy 11:26-28 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

* Hebrews 2:2-3 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

* Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

* Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

* Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

* John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 23-24 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. KJV

Young people, it pays to OBEY GOD! He does not require you to obey anything that you know is sin. You can avoid the pitfalls and heartaches of sin (disobedience) by obeying the Word of God. Don’t be like the young ruler who walked away from Jesus with sorrow because he was unwilling to obey in one area of his life. (Matthew 19:14-26) REPENTtoday of all of your sins. God loves you!
