Fornication has become such a popular act that some may not realize that God is strongly opposed to it. The Word of God is very clear about God’s position regarding fornication. A person who commits fornication is NOT in the kingdom of God. This is not a matter of opinion. Read what the following scriptures say about fornication.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. KJV

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. KJV

What is fornication? Very simply, fornication is sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons who are not married to one another. There are at least two reasons why this is such a serious topic. First, since this sin involves unmarried persons, it is prevalent among young people. The devil is getting more people ready for hell at a very young age. Second, there is a “culture of fornication” that is affecting America. In other words, fornication attracts, creates, and/or supports other sinful habits to create what can be described as the “culture of fornication.” Illegitimate children and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and all of the societal abnormalities created as a result, are sweeping across America because of fornication. Young people involved in the use of marijuana, illegal drugs, alcohol, and/or cigarettes tend to also be actively involved in fornication. The culture of fornication also encourages immodest dress, profanity, and music used to arouse lustful tendencies. Anyone who is familiar with the settings of America’s high schools or college campuses should also be familiar with these signs of the culture of fornication. Various birth control methods are readily accessible to young people to support fornication. Likewise, the media constantly bombards the American public with explicit and implicit messages related to fornication. This includes television, radio, movies, magazines, billboards, etc. “We are polluting ourselves with constant messages of sin.”

As the popularity of fornication increases, the morality of America continues to falter. God’s standard for courtship is for both individuals to maintain their virginity. Yet, pre-marital sex is the norm in today’s courtship situations. A virgin is scorned as “weird” or “abnormal.” Yet, virginity has always been God’s standard for entering marriage. What used to be a badge of shame is now an emblem of boasting. In God’s sight, the real boasting should come from those who have maintained their purity, not from those who have defiled themselves. The notion of privacy about one’s body parts has deteriorated over time. Now, the body is exploited at all levels of society – from the very young to the elderly.

True salvation will control the lusts of the flesh. (Galatians 5:24) Many young fornicators are also churchgoers who have not experienced true salvation. Young people, true salvation will deliver you from the hypocrisy of saying that you are a “Christian” while doing the things that God opposes. Don’t become a generation of hypocrites! You can be delivered from the guilt and shame of fornication. The pleasures of sin will only last for a season. (Hebrews 11:25) What will happen to America if the young and the old cannot control the lusts of the flesh? The same thing that happened to Sodom and Gomorrah will happen to America if she continues her sinful ways. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were “exceedingly wicked and sinful.” (Genesis 13:13)

REPENT today of fornication and all other sins. Turn from the filthiness of the flesh. Let God restore the virtues of dignity, honesty, purity, shamefacedness, and purity in your life. You will enjoy living with a clear conscience once you have repented of all of your sins. God loves you!
