| IMMODEST DRESS |
| IMMODEST DRESS
The spirit of “nakedness” is behind the immodest dress that grips America. In other words, the clothing industry is revealing more and more flesh (skin) in the fashions of men, women, and children. As more and more flesh is revealed, the ultimate will eventually occur – stark nakedness. The devil is slowly sifting away the shame that was once associated with nakedness. Rather than shock the world all at once with complete nakedness, the devil is gradually causing women and men to expose more and more flesh. Thus, the shame of nakedness is dissolving gradually over a long period of time. When stark nakedness finally occurs, all shame will be completely gone. Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. KJV This campaign to strip America seems to occur with women more than with men. It is hard to find a picture taken prior to the 1950’s that will reveal a woman’s bosom and/or the greater portion of her legs. As beauty contests became popular in the 1960s and the 1970s, some women felt that the bathing suit competition simply exploited the body parts of women. Now, the same body parts – bosoms, bellies, and backs – are common features in all aspects of our society, including “religious” gatherings. A wedding ceremony typically involves a groom who is completely covered by a tuxedo. The bride, however, has a sleeveless or low cut gown which exposes her cleavage and a great portion of her back. The woman is exploited, not the man. A recent news report (July 4, 2004) indicated that a female Grammy award-winning rhythm and blues singer is preparing to give a concert in London – in the nude. God still has a standard for covering our bodies. It is called modesty. It is called shamefacedness. Our bodies still belong to God. He made us for his glory. We are not our own. (I Corinthians 6:19-20) 1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; KJV When Rebekah first met Isaac, she “took a vail, and covered herself.” (Genesis 24:65) America needs to cover herself. If you are ready to give your soul and body back to God, begin by asking God to forgive you of all of your sins. REPENT now. God loves you! |
