LASCIVIOUSNESS

ST. JOHN 8:11

What word has 14 letters, appears six times in the Bible, and leads to various forms of perversion? The word is LASCIVIOUSNESS. It means licentiousness, filthy, “indicating sexual interest or expressive of lust or lewdness.” (Random House Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary). Licentiousness means “sexually unrestrained; lascivious; libertine; lewd; unrestrained by law or general morality; lawless; immoral; going beyond customary or proper bounds or limits; disregarding rules.”

This article will not attempt to list specific examples of the various acts of perversion in America. The “sexually unrestrained” nature of lasciviousness is easily exemplified by the dramatic increase during the last decade in the number of pedophiles and pornographers in this country. Ephesians 4:19 states, “Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.” Certainly, the last decade has revealed the workings of ALL uncleanness with greediness. When a nation violates the privacy of its young, the level of degeneration has gone as far as imaginable. The characteristics of such acts certainly represent demoniac behavior and/or what is expected of one given over to a reprobate mind.

38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

The blood of Jesus Christ can deliver a soul from anything – including lasciviousness. Jesus Christ will set you free from all unclean acts and the torment that accompanies them. If you are bound by this sin, cry out to God for mercy and deliverance now. REPENT, and believe the gospel!
