The word “REPENT” appears approximately 45 times in the Bible. It means: to be sorry; to avenge oneself; to turn back, to turn away; to return to the starting point; to think differently or afterwards; to reconsider morally; feel compunction. (compunction - a feeling of uneasiness or anxiety of the conscience caused by regret for doing wrong or causing pain; contrition; remorse.); to care afterwards; regret.

Contrition means: sorrow for and detestation of sin with a true purpose of amendment, arising from a love of God for His own perfections, or from some inferior motive, as fear of divine punishment.

Remorse means: deep and painful regret for wrongdoing; compunction.

Dear reader, if you are truly sorrow for the sins that you have committed, if your conscience regrets the sin that has been committed, and you are truly ready to turn away from all of your sins, then ask God to forgive you of your sins right now. The Bible says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 KJV

Truly ask God to forgive you of all of your sins, and then believe in your heart that he has saved you from your sins. Salvation is not based on what you may or may not feel, it is based on faith (believing the promises of God). If you truly pray a prayer of repentance, God will hear you and save you from your sins. Amen.
